OUR SPEAKERS

Javianna Nelson, SHRM-SCP

As an organizational psychologist, Javianna Nelson has experience in HR and organizational behavior. She is an advocate for applying principles of psychology to various facets of business in attempts to improve employee productivity and their quality of work life.

Javianna is committed to developing and mentoring future HR professionals. She is a member of SHRM, HRACC, Association for Talent Development (ATD), and Northeast Human Resources Associate (NEHRA). She holds a BS in Business Management and a MS in Organizational Psychology from the University of Hartford.  Her expertise stays relevant through advanced certification: SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SCP.)

 

Tiffany Mack-Mohammed, SHRM-SCP

Tiffany Mack-Mohammed, SHRM-SCP has a background in healthcare HR.  She has a strong passion for strategic planning, currently working as an HR Business Partner at Baystate Medical Center.  In her role, she supports business leaders to achieve their vision and goals of the hospital.  As a proud member of SHRM and her local chapter of HRACC,  she serves as the Young Professionals Director.  Tiffany holds a BS in Biological Science from Hampton University, and an MBA from the University of Hartford.  She is passionate about learning and helping others to see and fulfill their passions.

 

Mary Rouse, MSHRM, SHRM-CP

A strategic human resource, finance, and business management professional with significant leadership management training and experience. Mary is a successfully driven motivator, influencer, and advocate that believes human capital is an organization's greatest asset.  She is a member of SHRM, Higher Education Legal Managers (HELM), HRACC, Southern New England SHRM Chapter (SMA), College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society in Business, Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business. She holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in human resources, from the University of Phoenix and she recently completed her MS in Human Resource Management from the UConn School of Business.

Mary currently works at UConn in the Office of the General Counsel, where she is the Executive Assistant to the General Counsel. She is responsible to manage all administrative and business activities of the office to ensure we provide superior legal and consulting services to the University community.

 

Debra Davis, SHRM-CP

Energetic, positive and warm. Deb is an experienced and strategic HR professional who is committed to growth, learning and self-awareness to improve leadership skills, promote engagement and increase performance. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, SHRM, HRACC and the Northeast Human Resources Associate (NEHRA). She holds a BS in Business Management, from Albertus Magnus College and an MS in Human Resource Management form the UConn School of Business. Additionally, Deb has earned her SHRM – Certified Professional (CP) designation.

Deb is currently working as an HR Generalist on the staffing team at Eversource Energy. She provides outstanding service to her HR customers including candidates, new hires, active employees and HR colleagues. She supports the Talent Acquisition Team in creating a best in class hiring experience.

 

Tonesha Brewster, SHRM-CP

Tonesha is a Human Resources Professional with 5 years of experience in both For-Profit and Non-Profit industries, specializing in Employee Benefits and Leave of Absence Administration. She also has a strong interest in Employee Relations and enjoys attending various HR seminars across the country to keep abreast of HR updates and best practices. In her current role as a Human Resources Generalist, she supports a team of over 300 employees in all areas of HR at a Life Plan Community in Bloomfield, CT.

Tonesha currently holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management and Psychology from CUNY Baruch College. She is also pursuing the CEBS certification. In addition to HR, Tonesha is deeply passionate about financial literacy and she enjoys working with and motivating others to reach their personal financial goals, whatever that may be.
