PROGRAM
Hosted jointly by the Human Resources Association of Central Connecticut and the Staffing Management Association of Southern New England:

Engagement Onboarding: How to Wow New Employees from the Very Start

Unemployment is low, job openings are high, and people have many choices when it comes to where they want to work—so it’s important to wow employees from the very start.  Research by Glassdoor shows that organizations with a strong employee onboarding process improve retention by 82% and productivity by over 70%; yet, 58% of organizations say their onboarding program is focused on processes and paperwork.

The most innovative companies understand that an engaging onboarding experience begins before the new hire steps foot in your door.  By moving beyond the traditional new hire orientation process to engagement onboarding, you help the new hire quickly assimilate into their new position and form an emotional connection to the workplace culture that is sure to inspire them to reach new heights.

Developed for business and human resource professionals, this presentation will review the core elements of engagement onboarding and its connection to the culture of your organization, examine the best practices of top places to work and help you begin to develop a plan that will “Wow” employees from the very start.

Learning Objectives:

·  Recognize the common characteristics of an engaged culture and its relationship to onboarding new hires

·  Examine best practices of top places to work

·  Assess the effectiveness of your organization’s new hire practices

·  Begin to develop strategies that will wow new employees from the very start
