Veterans Appreciation Breakfast

Please join HRACC and SMA as we salute our local veterans; hear from former service members who have successfully transitioned into civilian employment and learn how to best source and leverage the veteran talent pool to support your organization’s workforce readiness goals and strengthen your employee value proposition. 

Network with current active duty service members working in recruiting and retention to share best practices and to learn how we can support our Veterans and Reserve / National Guard service members in finding meaningful employment as well as retaining the ones you have.

Our presenters will discuss:
- how their time in the service prepared them in their current civilian role
- ways that employers can leverage the skill-sets of Veteran candidates
- how to read military resumes
- best practices to source veterans and military candidates
- insight into the changes that come with leaving the service and entering civilian life
- supporting our Veterans through mentoring, coaching and sponsorship

This breakfast will begin with the playing of the National Anthem and heartfelt appreciation to our local Veterans and agencies.  You'll hear from our special guests about their success stories and how we as human resource professionals can support our veterans through mentoring, coaching and sponsorship.

This session has been submitted to HRCI and to SHRM for recertification credits.

FEES
Members of SMA, HRACC and SHRM National - $25.00
All Others - $35.00

$10 of each ticket will be donated to community programs  managed by the VFW Post 2138 and American Legion Post 123 in Rocky Hill.
